Anna was born in the east of the Netherlands in a town close to the German border. As a kid, she never had a lot of interest in books and preferred to explore the world by climbing trees, building things and eating an ant or two. The lack of interest in books, however, vanished when she discovered science.
When she started university, she was working towards a chemistry degree. Science was something she didn’t want to live without, and chemistry was her favourite subject in high school. After a while, however, she found that she preferred a more applied and tangible science over studying the theory of things that cannot actually be touched. She looked around for something that was a better fit, and she transferred into the Food Science and Technology program at Wageningen University.
After graduating, she moved to Canada where she started Truthful Food while working as a freelance product developer and scientific writer. Feeling that she wanted to learn more about the nutritional side of food, she is now studying to become a Nutritionist.
Anna is currently splitting her time between Europe and the US while working on a platform that makes science fun and accessible for everyone. What to know more? Follow Anna on social media and stay in the loop!
